Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What age groups do you offer classes for?

We offer a range of classes for both children and adults:

• Children’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ): Ages 4–13

• Adult Martial Arts and BJJ: Ages 14 and up

Our children’s classes are specifically designed to foster growth in coordination, discipline, and teamwork, while our adult programs emphasize intellect and technique over physical strength.

2. How many days a week should my child attend classes?

While we offer classes five days a week, we understand that life can be busy! On average, children attend 2–3 times per week, which is ideal for making consistent progress and enjoying the classes. Our all-inclusive membership allows flexibility, so students are not bound to specific days and can attend any day that works best for your schedule.

3. What martial arts programs do you offer?

Our academy provides a variety of classes for all ages, including:

• Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)

Children’s BJJ classes are held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We recommend attending at least twice a week for optimal success.

6. What should I wear to my first class?

For your first class, comfortable athletic wear such as a t-shirt and shorts is fine. If you’re attending a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, we can provide a gi (uniform) for you to borrow if you don’t have one. For Muay Thai or kickboxing, bring hand wraps and gloves if you have them; if not, we can provide equipment to get you started.

7. Is sparring required in striking classes?

No, sparring is not required, especially for beginners. Our striking classes focus heavily on technique, and only advanced students participate in sparring, with proper safety equipment.

8. Can I still join a class if I’m late?

Absolutely! While we encourage students to be on time, we understand that schedules can sometimes be unpredictable. If you arrive late, we still welcome you to join the class. Better late than never!

9. Do you offer free trial classes?

Yes, we encourage anyone interested in joining to try a free class. You can see firsthand the quality of our programs, the supportive community, and the benefits of martial arts training.

10. How can I sign up for a free trial or membership?

Signing up is easy! You can either:

• Email us at guardianmthood@gmail.com

11. What are the benefits of martial arts for kids?

Our children’s programs teach three primary skills beyond martial arts techniques:

• Superior body coordination and control

• Discipline and focus, learning to take instruction from someone other than parents

• Teamwork, learning to collaborate with peers of different ages

These skills help build character, confidence, and mental strength, equipping kids for success both on and off the mat.
